The
quest for Success in every aspect of our lives and anything we do seems to be a
natural desire that consistently crosses
the minds of all human beings. However despite this natural ever-present
desire in each of us, several factors seem to hinder the potential
success stories of people especially the Youths in our society today.
Bola Daniel, Founder of King Makers Initiative, seeks to provide solutions to these obstacles through his non-profit which is committed to the mandate of turning societal nonentities into nobility.
In this interview with Attain, he shares his vision transform lives for good. Enjoy

Please kindly talk about yourself?
I'm
Daniel Omobolanle Oluwadara, in 2016 however I was involved in a conversation
on branding and so I consciously stuck with the name Bola Daniel.
I'm
the third and last born, while my parents are senior ministers in a known
Pentecostal church in the nation. I am a trained thespian (theatre artist) from
the Redeemer's University and the University of Lagos respectively.
I trained as a public speaker in 2014 and 2015 during my stay in Ibadan. I've always been a leadership enthusiast for as long as I remember. I remember engaging my parents at a tender age in regards to Nigeria and her politics. The conversation dazed them.
In
2016, July 24th, a Sunday if I am not mistaken, while addressing the teenagers
of a church I was invited to, these words dropped into my heart:
"Conscious Living" followed by "King Makers." Since then
I've been running with the mandate of raising societal nonentities into nobility.
Kindly
talk about your Non-profit, what brought about your it?
Forgive
me, but at this point I don't desire to appear overly religious, but the first
six months of 2016 had me pressing into the desire to know what next. I'm
sanguine, by this I'm overly restless desiring for more. However, while waiting
for my mandate, I did something I picked from Dr Myles Munroe of blessed
memory.
He said "in the place of corporate vision, personal visions are birthed." Hence I volunteered to help others. I even went as far as hosting events for friends. Then it came while I was on the altar speaking on the 24th of July 2016. It was the National Teens Week of my church. Smiles.
What
are the main challenges you have faced and how have you handled them?
One
of the main challenge I've had is trying to identify the core of the initiative
as well as her peculiarities. That's me wanting her to be like others. So every
time it comes up I return back to the drawing board and call myself back to
other.
What
do you consider success in your Non-profit?
Again
the motto has been to see societal nonentities become nobility. Success is
seeing the manifestation of this in the lives of people. It's scarcely
financial, it's about the impact on people. Recently, one teenager opened up to
me and said she had never believed in mentors and role models till she met me.
That for me is success.
One time I arrived midnight for a speaking event the initiative was invited to, risking my life and being. This risk was satiated during the program when I saw the audience pledging to be great. The slogan for me has always been "Greatness is upon us." I picked those words from Eric Thomas, ate it and now it has come to become my definition of success. Success for me is having my audience recognize greatness exists in them and helping them unleash it.
What
would you consider your greatest achievement ever since you started?
Greatest
achievement, well it's a bit dicey to say as I believe it's personal and what
is "greatest" to me might be a cakewalk to another. Applause and
accolades fades away overtime. My greatest achievement has been seeing and
having people walking up to me and messaging me of the great strides they are
attaining and wanting me to be a part of it.
It's
about seeing people running with the vision of greatness.
Who
has inspired you the most so far and why? (Mentors/models e.t.c)
Wow
this question!!!
Mr
Kunle Awotiku of Uniplan Integrated Service. He was my public speaking coach
from 2014 to 2015 during the course of my stay in Ibadan. He helped me channel
my strength into intellectual growth. More importantly it was under him I
became President of the CDS/SAED Public Speaking in Ibadan. He is one of my
mentors.
Dr
Myles Munroe of blessed memory, Emeka Nobis, Prof Ahmed Yerima, fall into the
category of models. Believe me the list is endless Oluwatobi Adesanya and
Omiyale Kehinde are two mentors I reach out to within the space of three
months. In the people I mentioned, I draw from merely thinking about the impact
they have made on those in their field and in the world at large. Eric Thomas
is amongst my model.
Great...So if you could go back in time, what are the changes you would have made for your Project/Non-profit
Changes,
hmm, I'd be more proactive about it. Remember, the oil that flow from the head
reaches the toe.
What
else should we see you doing in the Future?
The
vision for the future is massive. Amongst them include a home for societal
neglects, especially for children. A physical establishment catering for them.
I've seen it countless times in my head.
Your Favourite Quote
I've
a thing for quotes. One that propels me has been from the movie, Troy (2004)
"If
they ever tell my story, let them say I walked with giants, men rise and fall
like the winter wheat but this name will never die."
What are your views on love/relationship and marriage?
Smiles…
Could you kindly elaborate this question please?
On
marriage in view of the high rate of divorce and mortality of one partner by
the other, well, I've never been married, but I know it's not a bed of roses
and at the same time it could be.
In my own personal dealings and attempt to understand love and maintain relationship, I've come to hinge love upon 1 Corinthians 13. 1 Corinthians 13:4 Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, 13:5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; 13:6 Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Of course there would be friction from time to time, but I've realised I can't stay mad at the person I love, now I know this is not a thing.
Hmmmn... Are you in a relationship?
Smiles
. Yes I'm
Meaning
you are taken already (Laughs)
Well,
that is the long term goal Queen and I are working towards.
What's the most important lesson you have
learnt from your Non-profit?
(Smiles)... Motive. The most important lesson for
me has been constant heart check to understand the driving force behind my
involvement in a particular project.
